A Letter From Barry
September 14, 2001 Dear Friends and Neighbors: I hope that all is well with you and your families. Last year’s dues ($50.00) were not collected since we had enough money to cover expenses. At a meeting at Anne and Cliff’s house, all present voted that dues should be collected annually even if we have a surplus. Please send a check for $50.00 made out to ELLA to Vivian Nussbaum or me. It was noted that the 6 acre parcel of land deeded to ELLA was going up for auction because taxes have not been paid. The group voted to pay up to $1,000.00 to keep the land. Investigation showed that more than $2,600.00 is owed so the land will be auctioned off unless we, as a group, decide to pay in full. I will investigate to determine if we can forestall the auction by paying the $1,000.00 amount authorized. No work has begun on the dams. Mr. Mance, connected with Johnson Hill Associates, stated that as soon as permits are granted work will begin. I was informed that the town planning board approved the Johnson Hill Associates site plan for development. According to Mr. Mance, there will be a total of nine lots. He stated that contracts are being sent out for sale of two 60 acre lots opposite the site of the old hotel. No more than two houses could be built on each site. The bank balance as of September 14, 2001, is $1,120.12 which includes current dues payments by six owners. The following were elected officers for the coming year:
President – Barry Brody As a final note, there seems to be a marked increase in the
amount of roadside trash on Alexander Drive; let’s all pitch in and pick up
whatever we see to keep the natural beauty of the area unmarred. Sincerely yours, Barry Brody – 110 Alexander Drive, Livingston Manor, NY
